In the Eastern Block, however, you can talk about a phenomenon of those instruments as they were wildly popular. Perhaps, in the eyes of people from Western Europe or the United States of America, they didn’t produce the best pairs of binoculars but still their price/quality ratio was excellent. Their factory was situated in Jena (an then in Eisfeld not far away from that city).
